- Auxoautotroph — An organism (especially a bacterial or fungal strain) that is capable of synthesizing by itself all the growth factors required for its metabolism (vitamins, amino acids), without needing organic supplements in the culture medium; an autotrophic organism in terms of tissue development factors.
- To advance — To move forward, to make headway in space or time; to make steps toward an objective. In a professional or social context, to be promoted to a higher position, to rise in the hierarchy, or to gain a better status. As a transitive verb, it means to pay a sum of money in advance (to grant a down payment) or to propose, to put forward a hypothesis, idea, or opinion within a debate.
- To speak (archaic) — An archaic, early verbal form or regional phonetic alteration encountered in certain ancient manuscripts or isolated dialects for the verb 'a vorbi' (to speak). The term reflects a stage of linguistic transition or a popular prothesis whereby the initial vowel 'a-' was attached to the basic verbal root, while retaining its fundamental meaning of expressing thoughts through words, conversing, or communicating.
- Azine — A heterocyclic organic chemical compound containing one or more nitrogen atoms within a six-membered structural ring (such as pyridine); also, a generic term used to designate derivatives resulting from the condensation of hydrazine with two molecules of a carbonyl compound (aldehydes or ketones).
- Azobenzene — A crystalline, orange-yellow organic chemical compound with the molecular formula C12H10N2, consisting of two benzene rings linked by an azo group (-N=N-); it is the simplest azoromatic compound and serves as a core substance in the manufacturing of azo dyes and in the study of photoisomerization.
- Azole — A heterocyclic organic chemical compound characterized by a five-membered aromatic ring containing at least one nitrogen atom and other heteroatoms (such as nitrogen, sulfur, or oxygen); structurally, the azole class includes foundational compounds like imidazole or triazole, extensively used in medicine as antifungal and antimicrobial agents due to their capacity to inhibit ergosterol synthesis in fungal cells.
- Hydrazoic — Pertaining to hydrazoic acid or derived from it; a term used to describe hydrazoic acid (HN3), an extremely volatile, toxic, and explosive gaseous compound consisting of a group of three nitrogen atoms bonded to a hydrogen atom, as well as its salts known as azides.
- Baccalaureate — A major national examination taken by high school graduates, the passing of which grants the baccalaureate title and the right to enroll in higher education; a complex test evaluating linguistic skills, academic profile, and knowledge accumulated throughout secondary education. As an adjective, it describes a young man who has successfully passed all written and oral trials of this maturity exam.
- Bacteriochlorophyll — A tetrapyrrolic photosynthetic pigment, structurally related to the chlorophyll of green plants, present in anoxygenical phototrophic bacteria (such as purple and green sulfur bacteria). Biochemically, bacteriochlorophyll absorbs light in the near-infrared wavelength ranges, allowing photosynthesis to occur without producing oxygen in deep aquatic environments or dark sediments.
