Definition
The act of trimming by the stern and its result; a modification of a ship's trim through its longitudinal tilting backward, such that the draft at the stern becomes greater than the draft at the bow. This structural phenomenon can be caused intentionally by shifting ballast or accidentally by flooding rear compartments or misallocating cargo.
