Definition
A complex physiological and biochemical process of formation, development, and mineralization of tooth enamel, carried out by specialized epithelial cells called adamantoblasts. This biological mechanism includes the secretion of an organic protein matrix followed by the massive deposition of hydroxyapatite crystals, resulting in the hardest mineral structure in the human body.
