#amelogenesis
- Adamantoblast — A differentiated epithelial cell, cylindrical in shape, exclusively responsible for secreting the organic matrix and the subsequent mineralization of tooth enamel during the amelogenesis process. These active cells are located in the inner layer of the enamel organ and disappear completely after tooth eruption is finalized, making the natural regeneration of enamel impossible during a lifespan.
- Adamantogen — Producing, generating, or stimulating the formation of tooth enamel; relating to substances, tissues, or physiological processes that initiate and support the development of the hard outer structure of the tooth. In a histological sense, the term describes growth factors and cellular elements directly involved in the active phase of amelogenesis.
- Adamantogenesis — A complex physiological and biochemical process of formation, development, and mineralization of tooth enamel, carried out by specialized epithelial cells called adamantoblasts. This biological mechanism includes the secretion of an organic protein matrix followed by the massive deposition of hydroxyapatite crystals, resulting in the hardest mineral structure in the human body.
