- Adat — A term used in legal anthropology and the history of religions to designate the body of customary laws, traditional practices, and unwritten norms regulating the social, family, and administrative life of Muslim communities (especially in Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia and Malaysia). This traditional legal system often coexists structurally with Islamic law (Sharia) and modern state legislation.
- Folk divination — A popular articulated regional variant of 'aflatul', used in Romanian villages to designate a divination ritual, magical custom, or traditional practice of predicting the future. Performed during sacred nights, it was used by young girls to discover their future husband.
- Retinue — A large group of people accompanying a prominent person, a solemn procession, a sumptuous ceremony, or a wedding party; retinue, cortege, pomp. In a Romanian historical and folkloric sense, the term denotes all participants in traditional wedding or holiday rituals, as well as the noisy and picturesque manifestation of an organized group.
- Sheltered at noon — A dialectal variant for amiezat; having sheltered or rested during the hours of peak heat in the middle of the day. The term describes a physical and biological state of structural refreshment of a laborer or a group of animals that benefited from the traditional siesta before restarting afternoon household activities.
- Rested at noon — A regional variant for amiezat or a lunch break period; the state of a person or animal that has been sheltered in the shade and has rested during the peak heat hours of the day. Structurally, the word serves in local dialects to describe the completion of the mandatory midday biological rest before resuming household activities.
