- Carrying strap — A regional phonetic variant for 'baier' or 'baieră'; a strap, string, coarse thread, or leather strip attached to an object (bag, pouch, bell, peasant sandal) used for hanging, carrying, or fastening. In folk beliefs, the term can also denote the string from which amulets or rosaries were hung around the neck for protection against the evil eye.
- Dyehouse — An archaic workshop or rudimentary facility used in the past in western villages for dyeing fabrics, wool, or cotton; a traditional dyehouse. In a secondary sense, the term designates a large, misshapen wooden or coarse tin vessel in which coloring solutions prepared from tree bark and dye plants were boiled.
- Owl — A regional popular name used in some northern areas for an owl; a nocturnal bird of prey in the family Strigidae. In a figurative or ironic sense, the term describes a grumpy, unsociable, taciturn person who prefers isolation and avoids the company of others, or someone who stares long and fixedly.
