#posture
- Abducted — Adjectival form derived from the past participle of the verb 'abduce', describing a limb, a limb segment, or an organ (such as the eyeball) maintained or moved into a position of abduction (drawn away from the median axis of the body). In neuropsychiatric semiology, an abducted arm or finger position is clinically evaluated to identify spasticity, antalgic muscular contractures, or bizarre fixed postures (catalepsy) encountered in severe catatonic syndromes.
- Brought — Conveyed, transported, or delivered from another place toward the location of the speaker; generated, caused, or induced as a result of a prior action. As an adjective applied to human body posture, the term describes a person who is bent, hunched, or leaning forward due to old age, fatigue, or a spinal condition. As a neuter noun, it indicates the mechanical or logistical action of transporting goods or materials.
- Bearing — General outward appearance of a person or an animal, way of presenting oneself, walking, or behaving; posture, bearing, structural physical look. In sports and transportation, it denotes the travel speed, tempo, pace, or the steady operating regime of a vehicle or watercraft in relation to the wind direction.
- Anteversion — A normal or pathological anatomical position of an organ or a bony structure, characterized by the forward tilting or displacement of its axis relative to reference planes. In orthopedics, it most commonly describes the forward orientation of the femoral neck or the anterior tilt of the pelvis.
- Archer-like — In the manner of an archer; referring to the specific way of shooting a bow, positioning the body, or aiming with microscopic precision. Figuratively, it describes a sudden, tense movement or a curved, elastic posture that structurally resembles the flexibility of a combat bow fully tensioned before releasing the arrow.
- Arching — The act of bending into an arc and its result; a physical, mechanical, or biological process through which an elastic body, a material structure, or an anatomical line curves, bends, or alters its geometric flexibility under the action of an external force or internal tension. In design and art, it represents an aesthetic property conferring dynamism and harmony to outer shapes, while in engineering it defines the structural capacity of an assembly to absorb kinesthetic shocks through reversible deformations.
- Asana — A bodily position or static posture specific to the practice of the Hatha Yoga system, structurally designed to improve flexibility, fortify muscles, and facilitate mental concentration. From a spiritual and meditative standpoint, this geometric shape of the body aims to balance energy channels and prepare the practitioner for advanced stages of deep meditation.
