- Ablutomania — A psychological or behavioral disorder characterized by an obsessive, compulsive, and exaggerated tendency to wash one's body or hands repeatedly. It frequently manifests as an elaborate ritual within obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), driven by intense anxiety related to germs, dirt, or contamination.
- Arithmomania — A form of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) consisting of an individual's irresistible and obsessive need to count everything they see or hear, or to perform constant and useless mental mathematical calculations. Affected individuals feel deep anxiety if interrupted from this ritual, subconsciously believing that failing to complete the count (such as counting steps, building windows, or lampposts) can cause a disaster.
- Automysophobia — A pathological, persistent, and unwarranted fear of becoming dirty or smelling bad; an individual's obsessive fear of contaminating their own body with dust, germs, or their own bodily secretions. In clinical psychology, this specific phobia is closely linked to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), driving the subject to execute rigid rituals of excessive washing, compulsive sanitizing, and social isolation due to intense distress over untidiness.
