- Archival science — A complex scientific discipline and a branch of theoretical and practical knowledge dealing with the history of archives, as well as the principles, methods, and techniques of organizing, classifying, inventorying, preserving, and utilizing documents of historical, legal, or administrative value. As an auxiliary science of history, it establishes the structural norms required for the proper management of national and international archival funds.
