- Agamohypnospore — An asexual resting spore, equipped with a thick, impermeable cell wall, which forms without any prior gametic fusion and enters a dormant state (hypnobiosis) to survive unfavorable environmental conditions. Structurally, this agamic cell concentrates storage materials, allowing lower plants, algae, or fungi to propagate their genome intact until optimal germination conditions are restored.
- Agamospore — A spore formed directly, without any prior gametic fusion or genetic recombination, serving as an autonomous unit of asexual propagation in algae, fungi, and certain lower plants. Structurally, the agamospore retains the complete chromosome number of the parent organism (often being diploid) and is capable of germinating as soon as it encounters favorable conditions, generating an identical individual.
