- Adenomectomy — A surgical intervention consisting of the complete extirpation or resection of an adenoma from an organ (most frequently applied in urology for removing a prostate adenoma or in endocrinology for pituitary or thyroid adenomas). This structural procedure aims to eliminate the compression exerted on surrounding tissues and restore the normal physiological functions of the affected system.
- Aerocystoscopy — A method of direct visual endoscopic examination of the inside of the urinary bladder using an aerocystoscope, after the cavity has been mechanically distended by insufflating sterile air or another gas. This diagnostic or therapeutic procedure allows a meticulous inspection of the bladder mucosa and small surgical interventions without using a liquid medium.
- Antiseptization — The act of antiseptizing and its result; a technical or medical process through which antiseptic substances are applied to living tissues to destroy or inhibit the growth of pathogenic germs. This structural procedure is essential in preventing secondary local infections, ensuring optimal decontamination of the skin, mucous membranes, or open wounds before invasive interventions or medical maneuvers.
- Arteriocentesis — An invasive medical procedure consisting of the surgical puncturing of an arterial wall using a fine needle or a trocar, performed for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. This structural clinical act is used for collecting arterial blood to analyze blood gases, directly and continuously monitoring arterial pressure, or evacuating pathological intra-arterial blood collections.
