#astragalus root

• Astragalus — A gigantic genus of herbaceous plants or small shrubs in the Fabaceae family, comprising over 3000 species distributed primarily throughout the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Many species hold major structural importance in ecosystems, and the roots of some (such as Astragalus membranaceus) have been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine as immunostimulants, general tonics, and antioxidants, due to their high content of polysaccharides, saponins, and flavonoids.
