#ampula
- Ampoule — A small, hermetically sealed, sterile glass or plastic vessel with a rounded body and a narrow neck, used in pharmacy for preserving liquid medications intended for injection; in physics and engineering, an airtight glass container holding a rarefied gas or a metallic filament (a thermometer bulb or light bulb). In anatomy, the term describes a sac-like structural dilation of a biological duct or organ.
- Ampulloma — A tumor formation, either benign or malignant, structurally developed at the level of the ampulla of Vater (the confluence area of the common bile duct and the main pancreatic duct into the duodenum). This neoplasm frequently causes early obstructive jaundice by blocking the biliary flow and requires advanced imaging investigations and complex surgical intervention for resection.
