#alkalimetry
- Alkalimetric — Pertaining to alkalimetry; based on the measurement of alkalinity or the concentration of bases in a solution. The term describes the methods, instruments, or reagents utilized in quantitative titration analyses, where the volume of a standard acid of known concentration determines the purity of the analyzed alkaline substance.
- Alkalimetry — A method of quantitative volumetric analysis that consists of determining the concentration of a base or the amount of free alkaline substance in a solution by progressive titration with an acid solution of known concentration (standard acid). The process uses acid-base indicators or potentiometric methods to highlight the chemical equivalence point where neutralization is complete.
