#ailanthus
- Ailanthus — A genus of trees in the Simaroubaceae family, native to East Asia and northern Australia, represented in Romania particularly by the invasive species Ailanthus altissima, popularly known as the tree of heaven. This medium-sized tree is characterized by an extremely rapid structural growth, long pinnate leaves with an unpleasant odor when crushed, and a high microscopic resistance to urban pollution and poor soils, being considered harmful to native forest ecosystems due to its aggressive colonization capacity.
