- Warning — The act of warning or notifying, and its result; a message, signal, or formal document through which a person, community, or institution is officially warned about an imminent danger, a mistake, an administrative infraction, or a legal obligation. In meteorology, the term denotes an alert code (yellow or orange) issued for hazardous weather phenomena capable of causing localized damage.
