• Adulation (old var.) — An older or archaic linguistic variant of the noun 'adulație' (adulation), denoting the act or result of adulating; the expression of excessive, blind, servile, and often hypocritical praise toward a person of higher status. Although commonly used in literary, legal, and moral texts from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it has been modernly superseded by the standard form 'adulație'.
