#adjuvant
- Adjuvant — A substance or element added to a primary product (medicine, vaccine, pesticide) to enhance, prolong, or direct its therapeutic or technical efficacy; also, in literary theory, a character who assists the protagonist in achieving their goal. As an adjective, it describes any factor that supports or amplifies a basic action.
- Adjuvancy — The property, quality, or mode of action of a therapeutic factor or substance to assist, support, or intensify the effect of a primary treatment. In clinical oncology, the term describes the strategy of administering secondary systemic therapies (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy) after the complete surgical removal of the primary tumor.
