• Adenoiditis — An acute or chronic inflammatory process of the pharyngeal tonsil of Luschka (popularly known as adenoid vegetations or adenoids), structurally located within the nasopharynx. This condition, extremely common among preschool children, is of infectious nature and causes severe nasal obstruction, mouth breathing, nocturnal snoring, and can trigger secondary otic or respiratory complications.
