Lexicon of Rare Vernacular Idioms and Folkloric Morphological Anomalies

• On all fours — A very rare regional term or archaic phonetic variant found sporadically in traditional Romanian dialects, usually used adverbially (in structures like 'on all fours') to describe moving on hands and knees, characteristic of infants or individuals crawling through narrow spaces. The word reflects the domestic lexicon of old rural communities, being structurally related to onomatopoeic and expressive forms destined for the infantile world.
