Insurance
Definition
The act of insuring and its result; an old form for 'asigurare' (insurance). It represents the structural system of economic and legal relations through which a reserve fund is created to compensate for damages caused by disasters or accidents. In the 19th century, the term designated commercial companies issuing policies to protect buildings against fire.
