Arteriectasia
Definition
A pathological, abnormal, and permanent dilation of an artery wall, either congenital or acquired as a result of degenerative, atherosclerotic, or inflammatory processes. This structural phenomenon weakens the muscular resistance of the blood vessel, increasing the risk of aneurysm formation or severe internal hemorrhage through vascular tunic rupture.
