Definition
A regional historical term, sporadically used in the past to designate an administrator, an overseer, or the leader of an artel (workers cooperative). The artelnic was responsible for organizing collective labor, keeping records of materials, legally representing the associated members before local authorities, and equitably distributing earnings obtained from selling common products or services.
