Apexocardiogram
Definition
A graphic tracing recorded with a special apparatus (apexocardiograph) that registers low-frequency vibrations and mechanical displacements of the chest wall caused by the movements of the cardiac apex (heart tip) during the cardiac cycle. It is a historical non-invasive method for evaluating left ventricular function.
