Definition
A taxonomic genus comprising the night monkeys (or owl monkeys) native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, being the only anthropoid monkeys with predominantly nocturnal activity. In botany, it also represents a genus of flowering plants in the Fabaceae family, endemic to Australia, remarkable for their yellow or golden flowers.
