Definition
A small sclerotized prominence, pivot, or articular element located on the head capsule of insects, inside the antennal socket, on which the first segment of the antenna (the scape) articulates. As an adjective, it describes a segment, anatomical structure, or body region of an arthropod that bears, supports, or is provided with antennae.
