Ankyloglossia
Definition
A congenital malformation characterized by a short, thick, or anteriorly attached lingual frenulum (tongue-tie), which severely restricts normal tongue movements and can cause breastfeeding difficulties in infants, as well as speech disorders (phonation) and oral hygiene issues in children and adults.
