Anafront
Definition
A type of atmospheric front (usually a cold front) where warm air masses are structurally forced to ascend rapidly and vigorously along the inclined frontal surface of the moving cold air. This dynamic phenomenon causes an accelerated adiabatic expansion of the rising warm air, generating a relatively narrow band of clouds with pronounced vertical development (cumulonimbus), accompanied by intense convective precipitation, showers, lightning, and squalls.
