Definition
A morphogenetic phenomenon or plant embryonic anomaly characterized by the total or partial structural fusion of the two cotyledons, resulting in a tubular or funnel-shaped structure that surrounds the central plumule. This anatomical modification, accidentally encountered in some dicotyledonous plants, is studied within plant teratology and seed ontogeny.
