Definition
The name of a historical, ethnographic, and geographical region in southwestern Romania (Caraș-Severin County), known as the Almăj Country or the Almăj Depression. Crossed by the Nera River and bordered by the Almăj and Anina Mountains, this picturesque valley is famous for its exceptionally well-preserved rural traditions, unique folk costumes, and the historic watermill complex in Eftimie Murgu (Rudăria).
