Acropachydermia
Definition
A rare pathological clinical condition, congenital or acquired, characterized by the symmetric hypertrophic thickening of the skin and soft tissues of the extremities (hands and feet), often associated with subperiosteal osteoarticular deformities of the phalanges. This severe structural phenomenon impairs cutaneous elasticity and fine joint mobility, frequently manifesting within complex neuroendocrine syndromes, such as pachydermoperiostosis (Touraine-Solente-Golé syndrome), or as a secondary paraneoplastic reaction in chronic pulmonary diseases.
