#widescreen format

• Anamorphic — Pertaining to anamorphosis or anamorphism, referring to them, or producing a controlled optical distortion. In cinematography and photographic art, it describes a special system of lenses or objectives (anamorphic lenses) that compress an image with a very wide field of view onto a standard sensor or film, with the image then being decompressed during projection to provide a spectacular widescreen format without losing the frame's original resolution.
