#thallophyte
- Aitalophytes — An obscure or neologistic ecological and taxonomic class of lower plants or thallophytes, structurally characterized by the persistent biological capacity to survive in environments exposed to the direct and continuous action of strong air currents or winds. These primitive organisms, which include adapted species of terrestrial algae, saxicolous lichens, or xerophilic mosses, develop an extremely strong microscopic attachment to the substrate and thickened cell membranes to prevent dehydration and mechanical detachment in arid alpine or coastal habitats.
- Alga — A lower, cryptogamic thallophyte plant with a body unsegmented into true roots, stems, or leaves, containing chlorophyll and other photosynthetic pigments. It lives primarily in aquatic environments or high-humidity spots. Classified into green, brown, or red variants, it plays a vital role in global ecosystems.
