#textolite
- Asbestos textolite — A laminated composite material for technical insulation, manufactured by hot-pressing multiple layers of asbestos fiber fabric impregnated with thermosetting (phenolic or epoxy) resins. This industrial product is characterized by outstanding structural resistance to high temperatures, mechanical friction, and electrical shocks, having been used in the past for manufacturing friction gaskets, pump blades, or electrotechnical insulations, though its modern use is severely restricted or banned due to asbestos toxicity.
