- Anguillid — A Romanian adapted term for any of the fish species belonging to the Anguillidae family, characterized by a serpentiform body, the absence of pelvic fins, and complex biological adaptations for catadromous oceanic migrations. The term serves as a taxonomic structural element in ichthyological works to classify species directly related to the European eel, highlighting the anatomical peculiarities of these teleosts.
