#syncopation
- Afterbeat — A neologistic musical term, borrowed from English, denoting a rhythmic accent placed on the weak beats of a measure (beats two and four in a four-beat measure). This structural technique is fundamental in musical genres such as jazz, reggae, ska, rhythm and blues, or electronic music, giving the composition a dynamic syncopated effect or continuous pulsation.
