#structural steel
- Shot-peened — Having undergone the process of shot-peening or shot-blasting; a metallic object, structural part, or hard surface treated by continuous bombardment with a stream of metallic pellets. In a technical sense, it describes the final state of a strain-hardened material whose surface micro-imperfections have been eliminated and whose internal compressive stresses have been industrially optimized to resist chronic fatigue and cracking.
- Reinforcements — The totality of metallic parts or elements (steel bars, welded meshes, profiles) structurally embedded in concrete to absorb tensile and bending stresses, creating reinforced concrete. In an extended technical sense, the term designates the assembly of auxiliary safety, control, and regulation devices (valves, faucets, pressure gauges) mounted on a pipeline, boiler, or industrial system, serving to ensure the optimal operation of the installation.
