- Action — A structural physical quantity defined by the product of energy and time, used in analytical and quantum mechanics; a force or influence exerted by one body upon another, according to the principle of dynamics where every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In old technical language, the term is synonymous with action, representing a process of exerting mechanical energy.
- Admittance element — An element, circuit, or quantity characterized by admittance; a component or medium capable of allowing the passage of alternating electrical current or energy flux in a physical system. As a derived quantity, it is the inverse of impedance and measures the ease with which an electric circuit conducts current, heavily used in power engineering calculations and network design.
- Attosecond — An extremely short unit of time measurement, equivalent to one billionth of a billionth of a second, or ten to the power of minus eighteen seconds (10⁻¹⁸ s). This structural element represents the fundamental time scale at which the dynamic movements of electrons inside atoms and molecules occur, serving as a key unit in modern laser physics research rewarded with the Nobel Prize.
- Auxonomy — The set of laws, rules, or mathematical and biological principles governing the growth, volumetric expansion, and structural development processes of living organisms or complex dynamic systems; the theoretical study of the evolutionary kinetics of tissue dimensions.
