#stem clasping
- Amplexicaul — Regarding leaves or other plant organs: embracing, surrounding, or clasping the plant stem with its widened base or through two lobules located at the point of insertion. This anatomical feature is essential in taxonomy for the exact identification of certain botanical families, while providing enhanced structural stability to the leaf against harsh weather.
- Amplexifolia — A specific epithet used in binomial botanical nomenclature (Latin) to describe a plant whose leaves completely embrace or surround the stem with their base. It is the feminine form of the Latin adjective 'amplexifolius', frequently encountered in official scientific species names to indicate a defining amplexicaul leaf trait.
- Amplexifoliate — Regarding plants or vegetable formations: having amplexicaul leaves whose bases embrace, surround, or tightly clasp the stem. This structural descriptive term is utilized in advanced plant morphology to define the state of a shoot or stem entirely covered by foliage adapted to wrap circularly around the central axis, offering optimal insulation to growth nodes.
