#starch storage
- Amyloplast — A specialized cell organelle, a type of leucoplast, found in plant cells (especially in tubers, roots, stems, and seed endosperm), lacking photosynthetic pigments, and serving the structural role of synthesizing and storing starch granules as a reserve substance. Additionally, certain modified amyloplasts, called statoliths, function as gravity sensors in root cap cells, coordinating plant geotropism.
