#springtime literature

• April — An archaic, bookish, or poetic variant for the name of the month April (the fourth month of the calendar year). Preserved in folk speech as a calendar archaism or frequently used in classical literary texts to shade the springtime atmosphere, the term evokes the rebirth of nature, weather instability, and agrarian traditions specific to the homonymous month.
