#spatial adverb
- Next to — A regional or popular phonetic variant formed through lexical contamination for the preposition 'lângă' (next to) or 'de-a lungul' (along); it expresses the spatial position of direct neighborhood, structural proximity, or adjacency to a reference object or person. In certain marginal subdialects, it is also used as a spatial adverb.
- Alongside — An adverbial or prepositional variant (followed by the genitive case or the preposition 'de') for 'alături'; situated in the immediate spatial proximity, on the same line, in direct neighborhood, or on the side of a reference object or person. In literary texts or folk dialects, it adds an expressive or archaic nuance to the geographical description.
- Alongside — In the immediate vicinity, very close, on the same line, or in the same place with someone or something; together, in one place; a standardized literary form that includes its extended adverbial or locutionary variant 'alăturea'. In a structural sense, it serves as a fundamental spatial indicator of proximity, and in a figurative sense, it expresses solidarity, moral support, direct cooperation, or close association between two entities or persons within a common action.
- Elsewhere — In another direction, toward another place, elsewhere; represents a traditional or pre-reform graphical variant (written with 'î' from 'i') of the modern adverb expressing an alternative spatial direction.
