• Astrobotany — An interdisciplinary scientific subdiscipline of astrobiology and applied botany that studies the growth, development, physiology, and adaptability of terrestrial plants under deep space conditions, such as microgravity, intense cosmic radiation, and controlled atmospheres within orbital stations or planetary habitats. This field lays the groundwork for bioregenerative life support systems in long-duration manned space missions while also investigating the possibility of indigenous flora on other celestial bodies.
• Astrobotanist — A scientist or researcher specialized in astrobotany; an expert who investigates the physiological and biochemical behavior of plants exposed to extraterrestrial environments. Their primary activity includes designing orbital hydroponic or aeroponic systems, optimizing photosynthesis under spectral LED lighting, and selecting plant species capable of providing oxygen and food for crews on interplanetary missions.
• Astrobotanist — A woman who works as an astrobotanist; a female researcher specialized in the study of plants adapted to the conditions of outer space or other celestial bodies. Her activity involves analyzing how microgravity, radiation, and regolith composition alter plant genes, being responsible for creating sustainable crops for food and oxygenation for astronauts in permanent bases on the Moon or Mars.
