#self-proclamation
- Self-proclamation — The act of setting oneself up as an authority and its result; the public act or intention by which an individual or a group unauthorizedly and abusively assumes a certain leadership role, moral authority, arbitrator, or defender of a cause, without official legitimation.
- Self-styling — The act of styling oneself or arrogating a title and its result; the arbitrary and unauthorized attribution of a title, function, quality, or dignity to oneself, without prior legal or social recognition. In public discourse analysis, the phenomenon is often interpreted as a rhetorical strategy for artificial legitimization or self-assumption of a desired identity.
- Self-proclamation — The act of self-proclaiming and its result; a unilateral political or legal act through which an individual or community assigns themselves an official status, sovereign title, or state independence without the prior consent of a higher authority or the electorate. From a constitutional perspective, this structural process is considered illegitimate or revolutionary, frequently generating major diplomatic or geopolitical conflicts until a possible de facto recognition is achieved.
