- Self-denounced — Having denounced oneself voluntarily and on one's own initiative before judicial authorities or criminal investigation bodies for committing one's own crime, before the act was discovered by state organs. In a procedural sense, it describes the structural status of a perpetrator who resorted to a full confession to benefit from clemency or impunity.
- Self-denouncer — A person who denounces themselves before the law, bringing to the attention of authorities a crime they personally committed or participated in; (rarely) containing or expressing a self-denunciation. This structural status implies an active and unilateral manifestation of assistance provided to justice before the ex officio notification of investigation organs.
