- Agametocyte — A specialized parent cell from which agametes or merozoites are formed through the process of schizogony or multiple division. This intracellular stage is characteristic of parasites in the Apicomplexa phylum (such as malaria agents) and plays an essential role in perpetuating the asexual biological cycle within the host tissues.
