#rhetorical transposition
- To allegorize — To express, represent, or interpret an abstract idea, a feeling, or a historical reality by means of an allegory; to transpose a literal narrative into metaphorical or symbolic images. In hermeneutics, it also means to interpret an ancient text by revealing its hidden moral or spiritual meanings beyond the immediate sense of the words.
- Allegorization — The act of allegorizing and its result; the artistic, rhetorical, or hermeneutic process whereby an abstract concept, a historical reality, or a literal narrative is transposed into a complex symbolic structure rich in extended metaphors and personifications. It represents the transformation of a direct meaning into a coded one, offering the artwork multiple parallel layers of interpretation.
