#residue
- Brass dross — A technical or regional term used to denote the slag, oxides, or fine metallic residues resulting from the process of melting, casting, turning, or polishing brass. It can also refer to a small residual piece of yellow metal or to the fine swarf accumulated on the workbench in foundry and hardware workshops.
- Amurca — An old, regional, or literary technical name for the watery, bitter, and oily residue obtained following the pressing and extraction of olive oil (historically also known as amurca); a waste liquid used in the past in households as a natural pesticide or textile lubricant.
- Burnt remnants — A rare regional or archaic term used to denote burnt remnants, coarse ash, or slag resulting from the complete combustion of solid fuels in traditional ovens or hearths; in certain dialects, it can also symbolically describe scorched, sun-burnt areas or substances used in the past in crafts to cause controlled burning.
- Tiny splinter — The diminutive form of the noun 'așchie' (splinter); an extremely small, fine, and thin fragment detached from a solid body of wood, metal, or stone. Due to its reduced dimensions, it represents a frequent microscopic residue in carpentry or machining workshops, presenting a hazard in case of eye contact or skin penetration.
- Bagasse — The dry, pulpy, fibrous material that remains after crushing sugarcane, sorghum, or agave stalks to extract their juice. It is extensively used as an eco-friendly biofuel for generating heat and electricity, as well as a raw material in pulp, paper, and sustainable construction board manufacturing.
