• As cited in — A word of Latin origin used as a preposition in academic, university, and bibliographical contexts to indicate the citation of an author or a text through an intermediary source; it translates literally as 'at', 'in', or 'according to' and signals that the original text was not consulted directly, but quoted from another cited work.
