#polished
- Abraded — Having undergone a process of abrasion; smoothed, polished, cleaned, or worn away by intense friction with a harder or abrasive material; (of parts or surfaces) mechanically ground.
- Polished section — A sample or specimen of rock, ore, opaque mineral, or metallic alloy, structurally ground and polished on one side until a perfectly flat, smooth, mirror-like surface is obtained. In economic geology and metallography, this microscopic preparation is used for examination under an optical reflection microscope (reflected light microscopy), allowing the identification of textures, metalliferous minerals, and internal crystalline structures.
- Brightened — Having undergone the process of brightening or polishing; a material, object, or surface chemically or mechanically treated to obtain an intense gloss, increased clarity, or superior color vividness. In metallurgy and precision optics, it describes the state of a microscopically finished component whose surface irregularities have been completely eliminated to guarantee optimal light reflection.
